ATLANTA, July 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- For the 12th summer in a row, college students from around America are walking from the west coast to Washington, D.C. They are part of an organization called Crossroads and they are walking to promote the dignity and sanctity of all human life.
“We have learned that the silent majority of Americans are very supportive of our message, specifically that human life at every stage should be welcomed and protected,” said Jessica Hanson of Columbia, South Carolina, a walker with the group.
Crossroads, a national organization of college students from around the country, has sponsored walks across America every summer for the past years. They witness to the sanctity of all human life. This summer, there are three walks, originating in Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, each concluding together August 12 at the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
“Over the past 12 summers, Crossroads has spoken to millions of people with the message that all human life is to be protected and defended, born and unborn,” said Crossroads National Director Martha Nolan.
Combined, the three walks will cover over 10,000 miles, pass through 31 states, and encounter hundreds of thousands of Americans.
“Although our nation is divided along cultural and moral lines, we have found that most of the people we reach are very eager to hear our message, which is essentially a message of hope.”
