ARLINGTON, Virginia, Sept.11 /Christian Newswire/ -- “Lt. Klingenschmitt deserves our prayers and support for his dedication to duty and religious freedom”, declares Judge Roy Moore, who will testify on behalf of court martialed U.S. Navy Chaplain.

A court martial hearing will convene at the Naval Station in Norfolk, Virginia on Tuesday (September 12) for U.S. Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, who is facing court martial for praying in his faith tradition (in Jesus name) at a public event while in uniform.

Last week, a Navy judge ruled that public worship is not the same as worshipping in public, declaring that a lawful order can be given that would prohibit worship outside of a chapel setting on Sunday morning. “According to this judge, public worship is restricted to Sunday mornings alone,” says Janet Folger, President of Faith2Action (F2A.ORG) and author of The Criminalization of Christianity

“While our soldiers are fighting for freedom abroad, our own chaplains are facing court martial & persecution from our own government  for praying for them”, said Folger.  “Where does the Constitution say that  freedom of religion is limited to one hour?”

Janet Folger, President of Faith2Action and author of The Criminalization of Christianity will attend the court martial and will be available for comment.
