BOLIVAR, Mo., Dec. 5, 2023 /
Christian Newswire/ -- Voters in Ohio recently
approved an amendment to their state's constitution granting the right to an abortion. Six other states have also passed similar measures since the reversal of
Roe v. Wade, with some
placing no restrictions on abortion. "I feel the message in the
Glimmer story is needed now more than ever. We must make abortion not just illegal but unthinkable," said writer-producer Gayla Prewitt (pictured).
Glimmer follows a young mother,
Margo, searching for a daughter everyone else says never existed. "I want to take the audience on a journey, rooting for Margo to find her daughter, just like we would search for a lost neighborhood child," said Prewitt. "We don't know what is happening. Does Margo have a child? Is she crazy? Then, there is a revelation at the end. I hope the message that people take away is that every life, from the beginning, has a God-given story," added Prewitt.
Dr. Alveda King, a warrior for the pre-born and the founder of
Speak for Life is set to be
featured in the film in a cameo role. "
Glimmer is a 'for such a time as this' message," said King.
"Like Uncle Tom's Cabin, Gayla Prewitt uses a narrative to offer an extremely compelling argument... not only for the abolition of abortion... but for the value of life and the impact of one life," said Pastor David Van Bebber.
The Glimmer novel has already been released. "A book that should be required reading in our schools," said
Jeff Wagner of the Patriot Review. Prewitt hopes to bring the story from the pages to the screen. Efforts are underway to
raise funds for the film.
Dr. King is also the daughter of the late slain civil rights activist Rev. A. D. King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and a Christian Evangelist. She is a Fox News Channel contributor and hosts "Alveda King's House" on Fox Nation.
